Counselling in Northwich & Online

Therapy for anxiety, trauma, and long-standing patterns

For people who are managing on the outside but are struggling on the inside

Welcome — I’m Kathy Shaw, an integrative therapist and clinical supervisor registered with the BACP.

My mission as a therapist is to help people feel mentally lighter by addressing the root causes of their struggles, not just the symptoms.

My approach is trauma-informed and depth-focused, creating a space where we can gently explore thoughts, emotions, and patterns with curiosity and understanding. Together we work to reduce anxiety, build emotional resilience, and develop a stronger sense of internal safety and self-trust.

You don't have to struggle alone.

I offer support to adults, teenagers and therapists.

The people I Support

Many of the people I support appear to be coping well on the outside, yet internally feel anxious, overwhelmed, or exhausted by constant overthinking. You too may be thoughtful, self-aware, and capable in many areas of your life, yet still find yourself caught in patterns that are difficult to shift.

Perhaps your mind rarely switches off. You may notice a persistent sense of anxiety, a strong inner critic, or a tendency to question and second-guess yourself. Over time this can become draining, leaving you feeling disconnected from yourself or unsure how to find a sense of calm and stability within.

The people I support experience:

  • Anxiety, overthinking, or a busy, racing mind

  • A persistent inner critic or harsh self-judgement

  • Recurring self-doubt

  • People-pleasing or perfectionism

  • A sense of feeling stuck in familiar emotional patterns

  • A disconnection from themselves

  • Difficulty feeling calm, grounded, or internally safe

I offer a space where you can slow down and begin to explore these experiences more deeply. Together we approach your inner world with curiosity, care, and compassion, helping you understand the patterns that may be shaping your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours.

Over time, many people find that their anxiety begins to soften, their inner critic becomes quieter, and they develop a stronger sense of self-trust and emotional steadiness.

This work isn't about becoming someone different - it's about reconnecting with who you already are beneath the noise.

With the right support, it becomes possible to feel more grounded, more confident in yourself, and more connected to who you truly are.

You're welcome to get in touch with any questions - there's no pressure to commit.
